Nominations have been announced of those candidates standing in the General Election on 12 December.
Three candidates will be standing in the Chorley constituency. While four candidates will be standing in the South Ribble constituency which includes the Chorley borough wards of Eccleston and Mawdesley, and Lostock.
It has been a busy week for the Elections team with two key deadlines (to apply to be listed on the electoral register and to apply for a postal vote) passing earlier in the week. The first batch of postal votes also hit doorsteps this week. We are expecting the second batch of postal votes (for voters who applied later but before the deadline) to be delivered from 5 December.
For those voters who can’t attend their polling station on the day of poll there is still time to apply for a proxy vote, but the deadline for applications to be received back is 5pm, Wednesday, 4 December 2019.
