This will mean we’ll be posting each fly tip we get reported to us in the coming month online with details of location, time it’s taken to clean up and the cost to the council.

The campaign will see four separate focus areas on flytipping as well as litter, dog fouling and graffiti.

3. Meals on Wheels across the Borough
A meals on wheels service aimed at ensuring people have access to a hot meal is being rolled out across the borough after a successful trial.

With people struggling to make ends meet, Chorley Council trialled the scheme in certain parts of the borough to make sure people were not having to choose between eating and paying their bills.

The scheme is being aimed at older people who find it hard to cook for themselves or may live alone meaning they may not get the nutritious meals they need throughout the week.

7. Astley's sensory garden blooms again
Visitors to Chorley’s Astley Park can now enjoy a new experience after a new sensory garden was officially opened today.

The new sensory garden has been created by Chorley Council in partnership with the Friends of Astley Park on the site of what was known as the blind garden, which is just off the path that leads to and from the Queens Road entrance to Astley Park.

The garden is designed to have year round colour and interest as well as being attractive to wildlife. As part of the work, volunteers from the Friends of Astley Park and Galloway’s Society for the Blind have helped to plant the garden, weed the garden, spread bark chip and install braille plant labels.
